Public AI can be useful for low-risk content and fast experiments, but companies should know whether documents pass through third-party infrastructure. For contracts, finance and HR, the first questions are where data is processed, who can access it and how long it is retained.

Private or self-hosted AI gives organizations more control over the processing path. It does not make AI outputs automatically correct; a responsible reviewer still needs to verify summaries, fields, risks and actions before business use.

A sound workflow separates customer workspaces, applies role-based access, keeps audit history and defines retention. Upload only what is needed and delete data when the business purpose ends.
